President Trump took a swipe at onetime aide Omarosa Manigault Newman as he mingled with motorcycle-riding supporters during a rainy afternoon at his golf club in Bedminster, N.J. Early excerpts have been denounced by White House officials, who are launching a concerted effort to discredit their former colleague.
Manigault Newman, who came to fame on Trump's reality show "The Apprentice" years ago before going to work in his administration, is set to release her expose, "Unhinged", on August 14.
Newman also reportedly wrote she heard Trump use other racial epithets to refer to White House counselor Kellyanne Conway's husband George, who is half-Filipino.
The book alleges that Manigault Newman was offered $15,000 a month from the president's campaign coffers to stay silent after she was sacked from the White House last December.
According to her, Trump suggested he was sworn in over the book instead of the Bible.
"She's a lowlife", Trump said, before stepping back into the crowd.
Manigault Newman also alleges that Trump allies tried to buy her silence after she left the White House, offering her US$15,000 a month to serve in a "senior position" on his 2020 re-election campaign along with a stringent nondisclosure agreement.
One of Newman's more noteworthy allegations is that Trump is "a racist, a bigot and a misogynist" whose mental stability is in "decline". It's sad that a disgruntled former White House employee is trying to profit off these false attacks'.
Along with her "race war" comments Omarosa said, laughing, that "oh yeah, there's some people gettin' it on in the white house".
The White House has already slammed it as "riddled with lies and false accusations".
Manigault Newman went on to become Assistant to the President and Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison.
