Features of electronic giant’s first smartwatch revealed — Samsung Galaxy Watch

Samsung launches the Galaxy Note9 with 6.4-inch screen

Samsung launched its flagship phone, Galaxy Note 9, at its Unpacked event in NY. I didn't get chance to try out Bixby on the Galaxy Watch during our brief hands-on session though, so I will withhold judgement until I can test it out properly. It still has all the same features as before from the looks of things, like using the phone as a touchpad for the big screen, in case you liked those. So while you may struggle to tell the Note 8 and Note 9 apart (at a distance, at least) we can't complain about that.

Samsung has come up with many launch offers to sweeten the deal for Note customers. Here's what you need to know.

"S Pen now has remote control functionality along with Bluetooth connectivity and extremely fast charging", the company executive explained.

Several intuitive functions are built into the device's software, such as holding down the S Pen button to open the camera app. There are also improvements to the camera, internal specs and, of course, the S Pen stylus.

And Samsung glossed over the fact that its S Pen doesn't work with the Galaxy S9 and its predecessors.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch is the best smartwatch Samsung has ever made. Double click to switch over to the front camera, and click it once to snap a picture.

All of the major carriers - including AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile - as well as Samsung, Best Buy and Sam's Club, are offering pre-order sales of the phone.

Samsung Galaxy Home design: What does it look like? In a jab at Apple, Samsung executives also frequently emphasize that their phones have standard headphone jacks, which newer iPhones no longer do.

Samsung poured all its resources into the Galaxy Note 9 after disappointing sales of the Galaxy S9 in the first half of this year led to smartphone sales dropping by eight million compared to the same period of 2017 and its global market share fell 1.7 percentage points.

In fact, it turns out that Samsung's plus-sized Note range of phones actually commands the most loyal fan base.

The device that runs OS Android 8.1 (Oreo) will have the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 system-on-chip (SoC) for the United States customers and the models powered by Samsung's very own "Exynos 9 Series 9810" chips will head to the rest of the world, including India. Useful? Absolutely - but not groundbreaking. Users can work on presentations, edit photos, etc on a full monitor, which will be powered by the Note 9 via Samsung DeX. There's an upgraded phone with 512GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. For a phone, that is just insane. Both are available worldwide from August 24.

A 21 percent boost in battery capacity from last year's Note 8 should translate to more than a day of normal use without a recharge. You choose which version you want (unlocked, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, or Sprint), then how much storage you want (128GB or 512GB), and then pick your trade-in device. It's a lot of money for a phone.

The Note 9 starts at £899 while the Tab S4 is priced from £599. But that doesn't affect their usability for taking quick notes.
