Instagram Model Posing For

But it was one spot in particular that caught her eye for a quick photoshoot, as she saw an area where nurse sharks were swimming with people jumping in with them to take pics.

A University of Miami student who was bitten by a nurse shark in the Bahamas this summer is recovering from the attack.

The outlet said her boyfriend's father was taking a photo of her as she floated near the sharks when one of them attacked. "I was pulled underwater for a few seconds and then ripped my wrist out of the shark's mouth as fast as I could". Zarutskie was able to break free and swim to the shore. "[The doctors] now believe that I still have pieces of the shark teeth in my arm and I will forever have a scar", she said, slightly concerned for her modeling career.

The nursing student recalled everything being fine when she first entered the water - until she leaned back and held her arms out. "I've seen countless photos of people with them on Instagram".

"A lot of locals that were just excited, and encouraging me to swim with them", Zarutskie, 19, said in an interview that aired Wednesday on "Good Morning America". Katarina posted them to social media, where she's been overwhelmed with comments asking for details.

It led to her needing stitches and antibiotics for her injuries, and she may need further surgery to remove fragments of the shark's teeth which remain in the wound.

Zarutskie maintains she "love [s] sharks". I know he mistook me.

"Nurse sharks are calm creatures", she told BuzzFeed News, adding that she had seen many Instagram photos of other people swimming with the creatures. She went to the hospital to get treatment for her infected wounds.

Nurse sharks are slow-moving bottom-dwellers that are mostly harmless to humans, according to National Geographic.
