CNN reported that Cohen is prepared to tell federal investigators that the president knew in ahead of time about a June 2016 meeting in Trump Tower where a Russian lawyer with links to the Kremlin was expected to deliver the damaging information about Clinton.
But according to CNN and NBC, Trump's former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen, who is under investigation and has fallen out with the president, claims he was present when Donald Jr. told his father about the Russians' offer to meet, and that Trump approved of it.
In a series of strategic disclosures, Cohen this week accused his former boss about knowing about Donald Trump Jr.'s controversial 2016 meeting with Russians at Trump tower, something the president strongly denied.
In an interview on CNN's "Cuomo Prime Time" Thursday night, Trump's lawyer in the Russian Federation investigation, Rudy Giuliani, called Cohen a "pathological liar". "If they rely on him ... it would destroy whatever case they have".
Graham noted Sunday that Cohen already has testified before Congress about conversations he had with Trump.
"Prosecutors prefer to strike cooperation deals quietly and in private because they want to save the impact of any valuable testimony and information that a cooperating witness can offer until trial", he said. Giuliani continued, "One is with the President of the United States".

But Trump Jr., the president and White House aides insisted that President Trump had no knowledge of the meeting beforehand, wasn't told about it at the time, and first learned about it only a year later when approached about it by the New York Times.
"I think the president is frustrated because he's got a great economic plan going", said Scaramucci. "So to me it's very possible, and I take the president at his word, that he did not know about the meeting".
Rudy Giuliani just went on CNN to claim we can't trust the words of Michael Cohen, a "known liar".
Giuliani was even more explicit in his praise of Cohen in May, saying that Cohen is "an honest, honorable lawyer" when ABC's George Stephanopoulos asked if he was concerned that Cohen, who is under criminal investigation by the U.S. attorney's office in Manhattan, would cooperate with prosecutors. Cohen claimed in February that he had paid Stormy Daniels, a porn actress who also has said she had a brief affair with Trump, $130,000 out of his own pocket, and Trump in April claimed he didn't know about the payment. So even if Cohen were to make a deal with the feds in exchange for leniency involving his other woes in NY, what might be the practical outcome? The Russian government said through intermediaries to Trump Jr. that it was supporting Trump and wanted to help the campaign.
Trump indirectly slammed Cohen on Twitter Friday, suggesting that he is "trying to make up stories in order to get himself out of an unrelated jam".
"Fair enough", Wisconsin congressional candidate Randy Bryce wrote in response to Giuliani.
