Robin Wright on Kevin Spacey: 'I didn't know the man'

Hosuse of Cards Season 6

"I knew the incredible craftsman that he is", she said. We never socialized outside of work, respectful professional relationship.

"He was so great with me. That's my personal experience", she said, telling Guthrie, "That is the only thing I feel I have the right to talk about".

After Spacey was let go from the Netflix series, Wright's character Claire Underwood took on the role of Commander-in-Chief that was left by Spacey who played President Frank Underwood. Several other people have since come forward to accuse him of sexual harassment or assault.

Spacey has been accused by multiple men of sexual misconduct, including "Star Trek: Discovery" actor Anthony Rapp, who said the Oscar-winning actor made a move on him when he was only 14. His firing was slyly addressed in a meta July 4 teaser for Season 6, in which Wright's POTUS says with a smirk, "Happy Independence Day... to me".

Wright said she hasn't heard from him since he was sacked from their hit Netflix show and that "I don't even know how to reach him".

It is the first time she has spoken about her relationship with Spacey since the allegations came to light towards the end of previous year.

As previously reported, Pearce appeared on Australian TV with interviewer Andrew Denton where he commented on Spacey's behavior on the 1997 film.

"I think that Wendi doing what she did served as enough of a distraction that maybe he didn't see us", said reporter Rachael Pacella, who was in the newsroom when the gunman, who had a longstanding grudge against the newspaper, opened fire, killing Winters and four others. When asked if she'd ever experienced her own #MeToo moment, Wright answered, "Of course".

The sixth and final season of "House of Cards" airs this fall.

"This is a bigger, broader issue, I think. So, we just need to shift the paradigm".
