Prince William, Kate, Prince Harry and Meghan gather for Prince Louis' christening
Buckingham Palace say the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh will miss the christening in a decision which was mutually agreed by the Queen and the Cambridges some time ago. The monarch had a busy week last week in Holyrood in Scotland and will be busy this week attending the RAF centenary Tuesday with other members of the royal family.
What a magnificent (and elegant) way to welcome tiny Prince Louis to the faith and the royal family.
At her christening on July 5, 2015 at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, Princess Charlotte wore the very same christening gown.
PRINCESS Charlotte issued a cheeky remark to royal snappers as she stole the show for the second time today at Prince Louis' christening.
Notably, Prince Louis has six godparents (three godmothers and three godfathers), whereas his brother Prince George has seven godparents and his sister Princess Charlotte has five godparents. She paired the pretty dresscoat, which featured a large lapel, with floral-embellished hat by Jane Taylor and a pair of matching patent pumps.
Although Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were not in attendance, Prince Charles and Camilla were joined by Kate's parents Carole and Michael Middleton and the the rest of the Middleton clan, including their brother James, Pippa and her husband James.
George also served as a page boy for his aunt Pippa Middleton's wedding in 2017.
William was seen giggling as his middle child stared down at the crowds of press, while Kate Middleton held her newborn son in her arms.
The duke and duchess have always emphasized their desire for their children to have normal lives, rather than "growing up behind palace walls".
They also chose two anthems for the choir to sing - This is the Day which the Lord hath Made, written for their wedding in 2011 by John Rutter, and Suo Gan, a traditional Welsh lullaby.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, left the chapel alongside the family. It was hand-made in 2008 by Angela Kelly, the Dressmaker to the Queen.
According to tradition, water from the River Jordan was used at the christening.
