Paul Heyman reacts to Brock Lesnar's UFC return

Twitter reacts to Daniel Cormier's historic UFC 226 title win Brock Lesnar confrontation

Cormier, who became the second simultaneous two-division champion on Saturday night by knocking out Stipe Miocic in the first round at UFC 226, quickly squared off with former champion Brock Lesnar in the Octagon after the fight.

Miocic vs. Cormier aired live on pay-per-view Saturday night from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the headline event, UFC light heavyweight champion Dan Cormier had the unenviable task of dethroning UFC heavyweight king Stipe Miocic.

Afterwards, UFC President Dana White confirmed he intends for Cormier's next fight to be a defence of his heavyweight title against Lesnar. "Of course I want a rematch, but right now I've got bigger fish to fry".

For all the talk about champion-vs-champion bouts over the years in the UFC, their actual history is just two chapters long.

The only obstacles standing in the way right now would be Lesnar's current situation with USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) and his contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

The Lesnar fight is going to happen, but other than that only a rematch with Miocic or a third fight against Jon Jones are on his radar. "In the stone age". "I never thought I would fight him, but Brock Lesnar, get your ass in here", Cormier said. "When you've got a guy like Brock Lesnar and you don't go insane on him?"

The fight barely over, Cormier began promoting the next.

"He's free and clear to do this fight", White said about Lesnar's situation with WWE. Miocic was the bigger man, had beaten Alistair Overeem, Junior dos Santos, and Francis Ngannou during his championship run, and was on a six-fight winning streak. I'm too old for this s--, you can't be doing that to me. The flip side of that, however, is five fighters who came out with unexpected results.

White couldn't when the fight against Cormier would take place but did confirm it would be happening.

Now Cormier can lay claim as one of the greatest UFC fighters in history, regardless of division.

As Lesnar left, Cormier had one final thing to say as his family gathered in the center of the Octagon. "I had some personal encounters with him, and this guy's ego was so out of control". "They started the process last week".
