He played 36 games in 2016-17 and only appeared in one game the following season, due to a serious knee injury that he sustained right in the very first game of the Nets in the 2017-18 campaign. The deal will also trade future second-round draft picks.
As for the Nets, the Nets backcourt will now be mostly handled by Spencer Dinwiddie, D'Angelo Russell, and Caris LeVert. In 67 games last season, Schroder averaged a career-best 19.4 points per game, in addition to 6.2 assists and 3.1 rebounds.
The Hawks will be the seventh team for Lin, the undrafted former Harvard star who memorably broke out with the Knicks during his run of Linsanity in February 2012. Denver also got rid of $21 million in salary with the deal, with the bulk of that coming from the $13.8 million Faried is owed next season. Both are entering the final years of their contract.
