Maisie Williams posts on Instagram: 'Goodbye Game of Thrones'

Maisie Williams Said Goodbye to Game of Thrones in a Very Game of Thrones Way

Maisie Williams has played Arya Stark since Game of Thrones first aired on HBO in 2011.

The actress posted an image of her blood covered sneakers to Instagram with the caption: "Goodbye Belfast".

Williams' post comes just two weeks after Emilia Clarke shared a goodbye photo of her own, paying tribute to her last time playing Daenerys Targaryen. 'What a joy I've had.

Game of Thrones fans really will do anything for a cheeky little spoiler on the final season, won't they?

In the post Williams indicated she might be taking some time off after filming the epic series, using the hashtag #immasleepforthenextfouryears however her next project, The New Mutants, helmed by The Fault In Our Stars director Josh Boon, is now filming leaving her with little time to rest. Fans have speculated that the eighth and final season of GoT will see the death of multiple main cast members, and at the INTV Conference in Israel in March, HBO executives seemed to confirm as much. "Goodbye Game of Thrones", she wrote alongside the photo.

But still, any hint is worth exploring in the long wait until 2019, when the fantasy show is set to premiere Season 8. She's also been nominated for an Emmy for her performance on the series. Maisie's revelation could easily mean that the other female characters have been killed.

"That would be awful if I got the ending tattooed on my body, just before the last season came out", she told Digital Spy.
