Jürgen Klopp blames ‘hot weather and dry pitch’ for draw against Bury

Karius jeered as Liverpool's stars fail to shine in Bury stalemate

English Premier League club Liverpool on Saturday announced the signing of Switzerland attacking midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri for the upcoming season. "So I'm really glad and happy to be here".

Wilson is Wales' youngest ever player having made his debut in October 2013 at the age of 16 years and 207 days - beating Gareth Bale's previous record, making him Liverpool's youngest ever global footballer.

Stoke signed Shaqiri from Bayern Munich in 2015 and he has two years remaining on his deal but the Championship side - who are restructuring under new manager Gary Rowett - are resigned to him moving this summer and they want the business wrapped up quickly.

Switzerland global Shaqiri completed his switch to Liverpool on a "long-term" contract on Monday, ending a three-year stay at Stoke City following their relegation from the Premier League.

The £13.5m they receive from Liverpool for Shaqiri could see them up their bid closer to Newcastle's valuation.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said Shaqiri "is someone who makes a big difference to the squad and team, because he can fit in so many positions in our system".

Bale had come off the bench twice to score against Liverpool as Real Madrid made a hat-trick of Champions League wins, in the final played at Kiev. "He gives us greater flexibility in how we can use our current players also".

Shaqiri made 38 appearances across all competitions for Stoke last season, scoring eight goals and registering a further seven assists.
