Get 4 months of Amazon Music Unlimited for just $0.99

Summer bargains? Amazon Prime plans opening salvo at Dutch market

Amazon has lightning deals going on all the time on its website, but they become much more important during Prime Day due to the traffic increase it brings to Amazon. Sellers also likely won't use Prime Day's increased exposure to offload items that aren't selling, making sure only the top deals get the special feature treatment.

That's the kick-off for Amazon Prime Day.

Prime day is starting early, and one of the best deals is 4 months of Amazon Music Unlimited for only $0.99 or $0.99.

A Prime subscription costs £79 per year, or £7.99 per month.

On Monday, Amazon India launched a series of VR experience centres across 11 shopping malls in Chennai, allowing customers to have a 3D view of products on sale on Prime Day.

You can share you Amazon Prime membership with all members of your household.

Amazon India is also enticing customers with new perks.

Past year was the first that Amazon required sellers to pay a fee to list an item for a lightning deal.

Amazon would add five such fulfilment centres - warehouses where stuffs are stored, sorted and transported to destinations - by end of this year.

The run-up to Prime Day will see Amazon Prime Video release a new title on each day of the week. "For this we have created a virtual room where customers can walk in and check how does a product like a piece of garment looks on a virtual model giving a better feel of the texture and appearance when it is actually worn", Akshay Sahi, head of Prime, said.

Last year, Amazon India's membership grew two fold.
