It's official: Sacha Baron Cohen is returning to TV - and a lot sooner than you might think.
Baron Cohen followed up those posters with a video teaser giving us a first look at the series, which the comedian/actor has been working on in secret for almost a year.
On the Fourth of July holiday, Cohen also tweeted a video mocking Trump.
"Sacha is a comedic genius who shocks you with his audacity, bravery and inventiveness", Showtime president David Nevins said in a statement.
That's right, Cohen got a former American vice-president to sign his waterboard kit.
Showtime has said it can't formally announce details of Cohen's project until July 15th, but that hasn't stopped the network from labeling it as "the most risky show in the history of television". Behind the elaborate setup is a genuine quest for the truth about people, places and politics.
The one-two punch of The Ali GShow, followed by his Borat movie, was nothing less than incredible. "That's the first time I've ever signed a waterboard", he says. Asks a text slide in the teaser for Cohen's new show, which cuts to a montage of various, freakish video shots.
After the vaguest of vague teasers last week, Cohen dropped a clip on Twitter that still doesn't answer a ton of questions but does feature the undercover filmmaker getting Dick Cheney to cheerfully sign a waterboard kit on camera.
