Chelsea To Use Diego Costa Text In Case Against Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte: Chelsea sack Italian after two years in charge

And a club statement on Friday, confirmed the news, saying: "Chelsea Football Club and Antonio Conte have parted company".

As he was still in the final year of a three-season contract, Conte is due a £9m payoff which the club will contest.

Maurizio Sarri has been pictured outside Stamford Bridge ahead of his proposed appointment as Chelsea manager.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, pictured with the FA Cup trophy in May, has been sacked after two years in charge.

Until recently, Maurizio Sarri and Chelsea in the same sentence was not something we would have expected to see. It was on the cards long before last season's FA Cup triumph, which came less than 12 months after he won the Premier League.

The report claimed that Sarri will be announced as the new Chelsea manager within the next 48 hours.

Chelsea ultimately finished 30 points behind Premier League champions Manchester City and exited the Champions League at the last-16 stage after a 4-1 aggregate defeat by Barcelona.

"Thank You Boss", Terry posted on Instagram alongside a photo of the two of them holding the Premier League trophy. Sarri, 59, is expected to replace his compatriot.

Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola and Giovanni Martusciello are expected to join Sarri's backroom staff while Italian-Brazilian midfielder, Jorginho, is now undergoing a medical at Cobham and will also follow Sarri from Naples to London.

Piotr Zielinski, Jorginho and Lorenzo Insigne have also flourished with Sarri at the helm. If Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink's second spells are included, it is the 14th managerial change in only 15 years for Chelsea under the Russian oligarch.

They reportedly include Brazil-born Italy global midfielder Jorginho from Napoli, CSKA Moscow´s Russian playmaker Aleksandr Golovin and Italian defender Daniele Rugani from Juventus, the side that edged Napoli in the Serie A title race.
