The Chelsea owner has not commented on the matter but new coach Maurizio Sarri has said he does not want Hazard to abandon the squad.

It's a 180 degree turn from his predecessor, another Italian, Antonio Conte- who often publicly criticized Chelsea transfer policies and practices.

Chelsea will have a promising long-term replacement for the 27-year-old, who could fit well in Maurizio Sarri's new system, while also securing a big-money sum to reinvest in the transfer market. "I've been playing for 15 years, and when you have a new manager you need to show that you want to play".

"I think that I am one of few managers who is bored by [the] transfer market".

But talks are ongoing over a transfer to the Bernabeu for the Belgium intentional. For us, he's our most important player.

"A telephone call without looking them in the eye would not give me any certainty", said Sarri.

"I can not claim to come here and change 20 players".

'He knows the fans love him and he's a player we love to play with.

Belgium internationals Hazard and Courtois, who are recovering having helped their country finish third at the World Cup, have been heavily linked with Real Madrid.

Sarri says Hazard is "one of the top two or three European players", adding that he hopes "to improve Hazard but that will be hard". "This is what any manager wants and any clubs wants".

We have made a few poor signings under Conte but the report from the Daily Star claims that Bakayoko was a player that the Italian wanted.

His displays have reportedly seen him emerge as one of Madrid's key targets to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, after his shock €100 million (£88m) move to Juventus.

Sarri went on to suggest a strong willingness to work with the players already at his disposal at Stamford Bridge.

"With Mertens it was different - Dries had also been an external striker and everyone thinks by necessity that he became a very high level player", he said.
