Cardi B files $15m Countersuit against Former Manager

Cardi B countersuing her ex-manager for $15M

The rapper concedes that she had a management agreement with WorldStar, but says that the company is in breach of contract for failing to appoint an independent business manager, provide monthly accounts and make regular payments to her. Almanzar then disputes the separate recording agreement, in part because Raphael allegedly had the same attorney represent both her and his company for most of the negotiations around that deal.

What's more, Cardi even claimed Raphael attempted to sabotage her relationship with her now-husband, 26-year-old Migos rapper Offset.

As was previously reported by the Inquisitr, Cardi B was sued by Klenord "Shaft" Raphael, who claimed that he was commissioned to turn her into a "social media sensation" and take her from Instagram to superstardom. He claims he's entitled to money because he made Cardi a star and she froze him out of her career. The control extended to who she chose to date.

The mother-to-be said in documents that the management deal Shaft presented was "grossly unfair", "highly one-sided" and "highly favorable to himself" according to legal documents obtained by TMZ.

The complaint continues to state that in 2014, Cardi B hired Shaft to act as her personal manager and book her appearances at dance clubs as a means of developing her growing musical career.

The rapper filed the suit at a federal court on Thursday, saying that he was overly controlling of her personal life and career.

The plaintiff attorneys did not immediately respond to a Law&Crime request for comment about the counterclaim Thursday afternoon.

Shaft first sued Cardi back in April after she left him for new representation. Leonard is listed as a co-writer on Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow".

According to the suit, Raphael told Cardi "who she should and should not see romantically". Her latest album "Invasion of Privacy" was released earlier this month and debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 200.
