May has spent the past few days fighting for her political life as first Brexit Secretary David Davis and then Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson quit, saying May's plans for future relations with the European Union did not live up to their idea of Brexit.
The broadsheet version of Die Welt says the government is "wobbling" after the departure of Boris Johnson as Foreign Secretary.
There are no recent precedents for two secretaries of state and a junior minister resigning in the space of 24 hours in protest at the government's central policy. "I get along with her very well, I have a very good relationship".
"The trouble is that I have practised the words over the weekend and I find they stick in the throat".
In response, May said she was looking forward to meeting Trump when he arrives on Thursday: "We'll be talking positively about how we can continue to work together in our special relationship".
His concluding thought on the issue: "If a country cannot pass a law to save the lives of female cyclists - when that proposal is supported at every level of UK Government - then I don't see how that country can truly be called independent".
In her reply, Mrs May said she was "sorry - and a little surprised" to receive the resignation letter "after the productive discussions" that had just taken place.
On a day of high drama at Westminster, Mr Johnson's exit was announced by Downing Street moments before Mrs May faced the House of Commons to set out details of her proposals.
The ex-Foreign Secretary left the foreign secretary's official residence at Carlton Gardens, central London, late in the evening, accompanied by his wife Marina Wheeler, and without speaking to waiting reporters.
But leading pro-Brexit lawmaker Jacob Rees-Mogg said he didn't think she would face a leadership challenge.
- What if Mrs May refuses to stand aside?
However, as a devout Catholic, Rees-Mogg has made no secret of his highly conservative social views, including his stance against abortion and gay marriage, which may alienate some voters. At one point, there were even reports that MPs from her Conservative Party had collected enough signatures to force a motion of confidence in her leadership-something that very well could have precipitated Britain's third general election in under 5 years.
They must submit their letters to the 1922 Committee chairman Sir Graham Brady.
If Mrs May chose to fight, she would need the support of more than 50% of Conservative MPs - now 159 - in the confidence vote to stay in office.
And senior backbencher Bernard Jenkin said there had been a "massive haemorrhage of trust" in Mrs May.
Theresa May only has a majority in Parliament with the support of the 10 MPs from Northern Ireland's Democratic Unionist Party, so any split raises questions about whether her plan could survive a Commons vote.
But many eurosceptic MPs are outraged at May's plan, and Davis's resignation letter was scathing.
In his letter of resignation, he described her readiness to accept a "common rulebook" with the European Union in trade on goods and her proposal of "impractical and undeliverable customs arrangements" as being like "sending our vanguard into battle with the white flags fluttering above them".
While some Labour lawmakers might be tempted to vote for a Brexit that kept the United Kingdom inside the EU's customs union, they too were clear that the prime minister's proposals didn't go almost far enough. He said "the Brexit dream is dying, suffocated by needless self doubt".
"Theresa May's Government is in meltdown", deputy leader of the Labour Party Tom Watson said.
Barcelona set their sights on Eden Hazard
Hazard said that his country will find it hard to beat France if Chelsea teammate N'Golo Kante "is at his best" for Les Bleus. Real Madrid are also believed to be interested in the 27-year-old.
How Arsenal Transfer News Affect Their Odds to Win?
Other players rumored to be destined for Arsenal include; Sokratis Papastathopoulos, from Borussia Dortmund, and Saul Niguez. If they are rumored to buy an elite player, during the transfer window, they play well which increases the odds of winning.
