Apple launches faster processors on MacBook Pro

Apple rumoured to be releasing a linewide hardware refresh this year

The updated MacBook Pros come ahead of a significant product blitz for Apple. However, the base model which starts at RM 7,499 is equipped with quad-core 8th Gen Intel Core i5 instead alongside 8GB LPDDR3-2133 RAM, and 256GB solid state drive.

The company has also unveiled new leather sleeves for the new MacBook Pro models, in Saddle Brown, Midnight Blue, and Black (for the first time) colour variants. All previous generations of the Apple Watch have been available in 38mm and 42mm case sizes, so that's likely not going to change, but considering the rumors about a bigger battery, the Series 4 may be a tad thicker than previous models.

Apple has updated its MacBook Pro lineup, with new 13-inch and 15-inch Touch Bar models now featuring faster processors with up to 6 cores, up to 32GB of RAM, up to 4TB SSD, True Tone Displays, and the Apple T2 security chip. Presumably all of them, because Apple says both models can connect to up to four external GPUs, or two 5K displays.

Apple is predicted to have a busy year ahead of it. Interestingly, consumers don't have to wait long to purchase them in Malaysia though as these new notebooks are available for order through Apple Malaysia's website.

Apple will also be updating the Apple Watch, and bringing in larger displays for their smart-watches.

Doing so would mark the first major redesign of the Apple Watch since it was first launched in 2014. Updated iPad Pro models will also appear.

Apple has yet to unveil the iPhone 8, but the latest rumours of its 2018 smartphone have already hit the web.

But more importantly, the new MacBook Pros come with an improved keyboard.

The 13-inch version, meanwhile, is up to two times faster than it was before.

With Apple able to sell $1,000 iPhone Xs in a slowing market, Samsung could also be focusing on increasing ASPs, Maldonado says. Both new models are listed on the India site.

There are some more interesting updates in there though. The company said in a press release that the 15-inch model is up to 70 percent faster, while the 13-inch model is twice as fast.

Kuo had no new updates for upcoming iPhone models.
