What to Expect at Apple’s WWDC 2018 Event

Two new Apple Watch models and the iPhone SE 2 are said to be in the works, but they won't be shown off next week, though Apple is reportedly set to unlock a new rainbow-colored "Pride" watch face at the event.

We are just days away from Apple's 2018 World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) to kick off.

New iOS updates are always previewed at WWDC, so it shouldn't be any different this year. This year, Apple plans to focus on performance and stability improvements over major new features or UI overhauls. iOS 12 will likely include more ways manage your usage of your digital device usage. For Apple iPhone and Apple iPad users, that is a disappointing 46% increase from the 46 issues that cropped up with iOS 10 during the same period past year. But a report from the Information (paywall) suggests that Apple will loosen its restrictions on the NFC chips in its phones (which are now pretty much only used for Apple Pay), and developers will soon be able to use them for other functions, such as unlocking doors or cars.

All eyes will be on Apple tomorrow as the United States technology firm's yearly WWDC event begins in California.

Regardless, maybe we will get an official name for the next macOS update tomorrow.

Past year saw the company unveil new iPad Pros, Macs and the first sighting of the new HomePod speaker. With the rumours of some hardware and software launches surfacing on the internet, the kickoff of the event has already gotten a lot of tech geeks to the edge of their seats. It's reportedly working with Pinterest and Snapchat to launch its new ad product, and it's entirely possible that it debuts at WWDC.

On the hardware front, Refreshed versions of MacBook Pro with upgraded eighth-generation Intel processors and increased RAM and MacBook Air's 13-inch model with retina display are being speculated. The one week conference is scheduled to start on 4 June and will end on 8 June.
