IHOP officially announced the limited-time name change Monday morning after teasing it on social media asking users to guess what they thought the name would "b"-come".
Though it remains to be seen if the new moniker is here to stay, several celebrities and other restaurants took to Twitter to share their hilarious reactions to the new name.
The report goes on to say that IHOP will be adding a variety of new menu items to their popular lineup, including a "Big Brunch burger with bacon, a fried egg and browned potato on top".
The wait is nearly over! - today, we find out what the mysterious "B" is all about in Ihop's name change. The "B" doesn't stand for breakfast, nor does it stand for anything that you'd likely want to eat for breakfast, or-let's be real here-at an IHOP at any time of day.
Asked by a consumer if the burger chain planned to cede its market to the new IHOB, Wendy's later replied, "Not really afraid of the burgers from a place that decided pancakes were too hard".
"People know us for pancakes", IHOP chief marketing officer Brad Haley said at a burger tasting event last week at which the chain unveiled its specialty 100 percent black angus burgers to a small group of journalists. The brand now has more than 1,700 franchised restaurants around the world.
