Wendy's, Denny's and more trolling IHOP over burger announcement

IHOP is now IHOb: The International House of Burgers

Breakfast lovers across the USA reacted in outrage, even prompting IHOb's newest rivals, including Burger King and Wendy's, to taunt the American breakfast chain.

The name change accompanies a line of new burgers at the chain, which is known for breakfast dishes like rainbow sprinkle-filled "cupcake pancakes" and classic buttermilk pancakes.

In response to IHOP's temporary logo rebranding as IHOB - the "P" for pancakes is now "B" for burgers because the California chain really wants you to know its burgers are every bit as good as the breakfast fare it has served for 60 years - Burger King has rebranded itself, too. The pancake chain announced this week that the "b" stands for "burgers". The company has also been sharing more photos and tweets about their pancakes.

Customers were quick to celebrate the rise of Pancake King.

According to its new cover photo on Twitter and the remodeling of its logo, Burger King is now Pancake King.

Meanwhile, another fast-food chain Denny's also joined the social media beef, referencing a Great Burger Wars and insinuating that IHOb's attempt to enter the burger competition would not last long. "If we have other people in the world of burgers commenting on our burgers, it can only help". Born too early to explore the universe. "Born just in time to watch the personifications of fast food restaurants interact with each other on social media".

IHOP doesn't seem to mind the mockery much.

IHOP's president, Darren Rebelez, told Business Insider on Monday that he was unconcerned by other chains' jabs.
