Vast Majority of Americans Support Trump’s Meeting with Kim Jong

North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un visits The Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore

Rodman, who knows both Trump and Kim Jong Un, said the US President would understand the people of North Korea "have a heart". North Korean observers have noted that the country's dictatorial ruling family has always wanted to meet with a USA president for the symbolism and recognition inherent in such a summit. Kept going back. I showed my loyalty and my trustworthiness to this country. I couldn't even go home. Rodman told CNN the message from the president was that he was proud of him.

NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman, who arrived in Singapore ahead of the meeting, shared his feelings with news anchor Chris Cuomo after the meeting between Trump and Kim got underway. So let's make this happen.

The next day, Rodman shared another photo, but this time it was of himself and Physical Culture and Sports Minister Kim Il Guk on Jun. 15, 2017.

Trump called Kim a "talented man" and that "talks went better than expected".

It is unknown if North Korea will be willing to put its nukes on the table in talks with the US. "It is fantastic. It is wonderful, when I said those damn things, when I went back home, I got so many death threats", he said, wiping tears away.

"But I kept my head up high brother, I knew things were going to change", he continued.

"I'm just happy to be a part of it", he told reporters at Changi Airport. Majorities also said North Korea is capable of launching a nuclear missile that could reach the USA (64%) and believed that the country's leadership is really willing to follow through on threats to use nuclear weapons against the US (65%).

Asked if he would meet Kim Jong Un in Singapore, the ex-basketball player said he thinks the North Korean leader "has bigger things to worry about than seeing me right now".

Trump felt he didn't need to do a lot of prep, because of his own nature, but also because Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the President of South Korea had already met with Kim multiple times.

White House officials have said Rodman will play no official role in the diplomatic negotiations.
