"It has been chose to reopen educational institutions, schools and professional colleges on June 12, which was postponed due to the virus outbreak", she said claiming that the virus has been contained.

"The virus has been stalled". This is a good sign. "There is nothing to be scared of", Choubey told PTI.

Health Minister K K Shylaja on Sunday visited the two survivors of Nipah infection at the Government Medical College Hospital here where they are recuperating. The virus has been contained. "There is no need to run away from anywhere". "The scare of this getting spread is finally over, as no more patients have tested positive, but a caution has to be there who are under observation, as they have to take complete rest", said Shailaja.

The May 24 advisory was withdrawn a day after the government lifted the high alert sounded in Kozhikode and Malappuram districts.

District administration has made a decision to reopen the educational institutions which were remaining closed in the wake of Nipah virus outbreak, on June 12.

The total number of Nipah deaths is considered as 17 because the blood and body fluid samples of Sabith (26), the first person to die with Nipah symptoms, had not been subjected to analysis. "The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is closely monitoring the situation", the department under the Health Ministry added.
