Jessica Griffin, from MS in the USA, said she did not realise anything was wrong with Kailyn until the little girl woke up last Wednesday morning.
A Grenada, Mississippi mother's warning to other parents after her daughter suffered tick paralysis has been shared thousands of times on Facebook.
When Jessica Griffin's 5-year-old daughter Kailyn Kirk went to sleep the night of June 5, nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
"She woke up to get ready to go to daycare and as soon as her feet hit the floor, she fell", Ms Griffin told MS News.
"I was just thinking that her legs were asleep until I noticed that she couldn't hardly talk", writes Griffin. Girls often have longer hair than boys, which ticks can attach to and hide in, increasing the risk of tick paralysis, the report said. Griffin removed the tick and took her daughter to the emergency room, where she was diagnosed with tick paralysis.
Kailyn was left struggling to walk after being bitten by a tick.
Kailyn's doctors predicted that she would be back to normal in between 12 and 24 hours, "and sure enough within that 12 hours she was back to being her silly self, running and playing", Griffin said.
Now, Griffin says she working to spread awareness about the common, but unassuming condition.
Most previous cases of tick paralysis have been reported in children; typically girls, according to a 2012 report on the condition. "Prayers for this baby!" She has been such a champ throughout this whole ordeal!
Griffin's initial post garnered more than 371,000 shares and 96,000 likes.

Square Enix’s E3 showcase was a bust
It was nice to see Dragon Quest XI in the spotlight, a series that often doesn't enjoy its share of mainstream. With an emphasis on a sword obtained the protagonist seems to gain the ability to fight back the darkness.
