Another fun thing that Poke Ball plus has: as long as it is connected to your phone and the PoGO app, it will count your steps so you can hatch Eggs and get Candy for the Pokemon you've set as your buddy.
The new accessory PokeBall Plus can be paired with your Nintendo Switch and can be used with Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let's Go Eevee!. When playing in handheld mode, however, you'll have to use the gyroscopic controls within the Switch console to perfectly line up your Poke Ball to successfully catch the Pokemon. While Pokémon Let's Go will have all 150 original Pokémon to trade between players, the first exclusive legendary for the game will be exclusive to the Pokeball accessory.
It sounds like this will be the only way to get Mew in Pokemon Let's Go as well. Assuming Mew won't be available through regular gameplay in Pokemon Let's Go, then that pretty much leaves the Poke Ball Plus as your only option for obtaining one. The Poke Ball Plus can be purchased on its own or in a bundle deal with a copy of the game.
It feels a bit odd that Nintendo is nearly turning its Poke Ball Plus into a loot box for Pokemon Lets Go. We've emailed The Pokemon Company for clarification, and we'll update if we hear back.
