Melania Roasted for Jacket Choice While Seeing Detained Children

The media maelstrom surrounding a jacket Melania Trump donned to visit children detained at the Texas-Mexico border yesterday sees no signs of abating.

Melania Trump donned the $39 Zara jacket to visit the Upbringing New Hope Children's Shelter in McAllen, Texas, for a personal look at the situation there.

CNN's Jim Accosta reports that the First Lady's spokesperson confirmed the text on the jacket, but said it wasn't meant to have hidden meaning.

The first lady's choice has raised a number of questions about exactly what she was trying to say through her clothing. Some media reports suggested there was a hidden message that she doesn't care about her husband Donald Trump's "zero tolerance" on immigration policy.

The new policy of bringing criminal charges against migrants has sparked a public outcry over President Donald Trump's policy of separating children from their parents, with lawmakers struggling to get immigration legislation passed.

In Florida, Argentine immigrant Maria Bilbao said she joined the protest because she came to the country 17 years ago with her then-9-year-old son and understands the fear of being separated from a child.

There are three different agencies involved in holding the children nabbed at the border.

The president later contradicting that, saying the words were directed at the media that he claims is dishonest and that she "truly no longer cares!" He asked that their last names not be used because he didn't want to endanger his wife and five daughters back home. Any details provided to parents in these calls will be sent to HHS, which along with ICE will review its data to locate children and verify the parent-child relationship. "We can not allow our Country to be overrun by illegal immigrants as the Democrats tell their phony stories of sadness and grief, hoping it will help them in the elections", he tweeted. In one classroom, children were being taught about the July Fourth Independence Day holiday.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz told reporters Saturday in Homestead, Florida, that she and Nelson should have been allowed access on Tuesday when they first went to the facility but were turned away.

"Ivanka feels very strongly, my wife feels very strongly about it, I feel very strongly about it". Vanity Fair said her shoes screamed "Who's in for brunch?" and the tongue-in-cheek term "hurricane heels" took flight.

The president gave the stage to families he says have suffered from "permanent separation" from their loved ones.

Melania's trip to Texas was cut short by heavy rain and flash flooding. When she arrived at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, she was spotted wearing the khaki green Zara jacket in question.
