Surveillance footage shows the bodega manager and an employee gesturing the men to take the fight outside where Junior Guzman-Feliz was stabbed and killed on Wednesday evening.

The attackers struck Junior several times with a machete before leaving him for dead outside of a convenient store.

Guzman-Feliz was brutally attacked and stabbed on both sides of his neck with a machete. Witnesses can be heard screaming, "Run to the hospital!"

Police said Guzman-Feliz knew the suspects and the stabbing may have been gang-related, though Guzman-Feliz-who had no criminal record-was not a part of a gang. According to ABC 7, Guzman-Feliz ran to St. Barnabas Hospital, located one block away from the crime scene, before collapsing on the sidewalk.

According to published reports, members of the Trinitarios street gang apologized to Lesandro's family, saying the men attacked the teenager believing he was someone else.

Guzman-Feliz, known as Junior in the neighbourhood, was headed to repay $5 to a friend before ending up in a dispute outside the store. The murder weapon hasn't been recovered and the teen's murderers are still at large, police saijd. Once the news spread on social media, celebrities like Cardi B - who's from the Bronx - expressed her condolences and highlighted the NYPD's slow response to help the teen. "How bout you call the ambulance like ya be calling for back up when ya see ni**as smoking in front of a building!"

The rapper donated to the family's GoFundMe for Lesandro's funeral expenses, which has raised more than $100,000 thus far.

The NYPD released video of the attack in the hope of identifying the suspects, and Lesandro's cause has gained viral attention.

"He [the gang leader] said they kicked all of them out of the gang", Grullon said.
