Euroleague star Doncic to remain in National Basketball Association draft

Report Clippers want to trade up in draft may be eyeing Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic said last month he's undecided about jumping to the National Basketball Association this year.

Michael Scotto recently reported that the Clippers have "made calls to several teams" with a Top-10 pick to try to make a trade.

The 2018 NBA Draft could be a franchise-changing draft for the Los Angeles Clippers.

On the Yahoo Sports NBA Podcast with Chris Mannix, NBA insider Shams Charania mentioned that the Clippers are interested in moving up in the draft, with their eyes on Slovenian superstar prospect Luka Doncic. But, with a three-quarters court sprint faster than Russell Westerbork and an eight-foot wingspan, he's suddenly jumped into contention for a top-three pick.

If these teams are content with their point guard depth and talent, maybe they look to trade out of the top five and acquire an additional asset (s) from a team looking to move up and select Doncic. If so, this is the trade package I would explore if I am the Clippers. It's tough to determine which player would be included in the deal, but the favorite would likely have to be Tobias Harris.

This gives the Grizzlies two solid players to throw into the fray next season without any long-term commitments. They could use both first round picks, but the idea of Doncic playing at the Staples Center is tantalizing.
