Elon Musk's 'not a flamethrower' devices show up on eBay for thousands

Flame on! Elon Musk says Boring Company delivers its first ‘Not-a-Flamethrowers’

While this was a wildly popular move for those who had ordered the flamethrowers, a few politicians found that the idea didn't sit too well with them.

Miguel Santiago, an American politician who serves in the California State Assembly, recently proposed legislation to stop sale of the flamethrowers.

Following the success of the flamethrower, Musk has started to tease the next Boring Company promotional product. They sought to tighten up the state's regulations on flamethrowers, which now apply only to devices that emit flames going out farther than 10 feet.

In the pictures, hundreds of people lined up to pick up their $500 flamethrowers.

The gun lobby, however, was not amused.

Elon Musk reportedly has a net worth over $20 billion. At the party for the $500 device, guests used their new toys to toast marshmallows.

"In a ideal world, I don't see any reason why anybody needs something like this out of a legitimate commercial use". Instead, they work more like large propane blowtorches.

"Obviously, a flamethrower is a super bad idea".

Musks' official Twitter account and the account for the Boring Company together tweeted a total of 16 photos from the event, mostly of their customers testing out the new product.

"Anyways, we are hosting a Not-a-Flamethrower pickup party in Los Angeles on June 9, 2018, from noon to 5 pm". Elon took to Twitter to share images of the first 1,000 flamethrowers that were picked up. Only eligible customers who have signed the terms and conditions and have registered at www.boringcompany.com/pickup may attend.

Ahead of the original launch of the gun, he said: 'When the zombie apocalypse happens, you'll be glad you bought a flamethrower.

On Saturday morning, Elon Musk's The Boring Company finally released its highly anticipated "Not-A-Flamethrower" flamethrower, which was named as such after Musk was told by customs officials that he was not allowed to sell any items called "flamethrowers".
