Blue Jays prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., touted Toronto Blue Jays prospect, placed on seven-day disabled list

Blue-chip prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was scheduled to undergo testing by the Toronto Blue Jays' medical staff Friday at the team's minor-league complex in Dunedin, Fla. He owns a ridiculous.407/.457/.667 batting line with 11 home runs and 55 RBI in 53 games this season at the Double-A level.

"We're just being extra cautious".

The Fisher Cats have not revealed specifics on the injury but it is not believed to be serious.

The injury is now being described as a "hockey-esque" lower-body injury, with some suggesting that Guerrero could be dealing with a hamstring issue.

He was hurt last weekend, but DH'd on Tuesday and then singled in New Hampshire's game Wednesday, but he limped to first base and was removed after advancing to second.

The club is obviously being cautious with Guerrero, the most precious asset in the organization.

With seven days to rest and recuperate, though, the immediate aim is to get the top-rated prospect in baseball back and feeling healthy.
