Verizon goes with AWS as its preferred public cloud provider

Amazon Replicates Facebook, Microsoft, Partners Startup Built on Ethereum (ETH) Blockchain

"Companies are eager to capture the potential of blockchain but to date have struggled to move experimental projects forward into live production networks", ConsenSys explained in their announcement release.

The founder of the Ethereum blockchain platform, which is what Kaleido and AWS will be using, said this is the biggest move yet by the tech giant to get into blockchain. On the other hand, a private blockchain has restrictions on who is allowed to participate in the network, with a single entity or enterprise capable of overriding commands on the blockchain if needed. We first heard about AWS's interest in blockchain technology in 2016 when the company announced it was exploring the possibility of working with blockchain startups by offering dedicated technical support and infrastructure for the firms involved.

For ConsenSys, the goal is simple: build a decentralized world by conquering the complexities of blockchain for enterprises and driving seamless adoption. We designed the Kaleido platform from scratch with new user experiences and tools to radically simplify the entire enterprise journey. "This may be considered the first major link forged in the internet of blockchains". Unlike many online publications, we don't have a paywall or run banner advertising, because we want to keep our journalism open, without influence or the need to chase traffic.

Kaleido provides a full solution for those ready for something more than do-it-yourself scripts or templates, streamlining the process of standing up secure, private blockchain networks without sacrificing the ability to customize the environment. "What Salesforce did for CRM, Kaleido will do for blockchain". "The combination of Verizon's team of builders with AWS's extensive portfolio of cloud services and expertise means that Verizon's options for delighting their customers is virtually unlimited".

"Kaleido is making blockchain more accessible and easier to use for our customers and even faster to securely connect their blockchain solutions to the rest of AWS's fleet of services".

This new partnership makes it the first blockchain SaaS solution that will be available on AWS Marketplace, with hope that it will give them opportunity to carry on with blockchain technology.

Enterprises have business needs driven by security, compliance, ownership, privacy, and scalability requirements, which can bring additional complexity to their blockchain projects.

Kaleido is a blockchain business cloud, and enterprise is in its DNA. Storage is encrypted and dedicated, and networks are automatically distributed across three Availability Zones (AZs) in a region.

Founder of Ethereum blockchain Joseph Lubin calls it is a "heavy duty" move by the tech giant to get into blockchain. "We believe Kaleido will become a de-facto standard and a global blockchain platform for business, providing an underlying foundation that until today was missing from the enterprise toolkit".
