Mike Budenholzer mulled for Knicks job headed to Bucks

The 48-year-old reportedly has now been hired by Milwaukee, where he will try to replicate the early success he found in Atlanta.

Budenholzer has experience as an National Basketball Association head coach, having last coached the Atlanta Hawks from 2013-18.

Reports indicate Budenholzer had breakfast on Wednesday morning, May 16 with Bucks players Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton.

He was named the NBA Coach of the Year that season. He'll take over for former interim head coach Joe Prunty who succeeded Jason Kidd after the team's rough start during the 2017-18 season.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the team has reached an agreement to hire former Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer.

Budenholzer was also a candidate for jobs with the Toronto Raptors, Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks.
