The government has yet to formally announce the recapture of the enclave, but a Syrian military officer told Syrian TV the government is now in control of the last rebel enclave in Homs after "overpowering terrorism".
On May 2, the Syrian regime and opposition groups agreed to a cease-fire in the Homs province's northern countryside.
According to the deal, thousands of rebels and civilians who refused to live under government control would be evacuated to other rebel-held areas in the country's north.
State media and activists say more than 27,000 civilians and gunmen have left the northern countryside of Homs in the past days, the latest in a string of capitulation deals by the rebels around the country.
In recent months government forces have made major advances around the capital, but are still battling IS fighters in southern Damascus.
A Syrian security officer told state-run Al-Ikhbariya TV on Tuesday that police began deploying in northern rural Homs, restoring government control.

The withdrawal of terrorist forces from the area has also taken the al-Zara power plant out of the range of militant rockets and artillery shells, the statement added. "Starting today, northern rural Homs will begin to return to normal life".
Videos shared on social media showed vehicles carrying the Russian flag accompanying the deployment.
"The fearless armed forces, with support from allies, have completed the clearing of 1,200 sq.km (463 sq. miles) in rural Northern Homs and Southern Hama, and have restored security to 65 villages and towns", said Brig.
"The last convoy of terrorists and their families exits northern Homs province and southern Hama province", SANA reported.
Around 221 pro-government fighters and 189 ISIS militants have been killed since fighting started on April 19, AFP said, citing the United Kingdom-based monitor the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
This suggests the southern province, which is protected by a US -backed de-escalation zone agreement, may be the next battleground in the Syrian conflict.
