Halo: Fireteam Raven announced, 130-inch 4K arcade cabinet

Halo Arcade Game Coming This Year

For some gamers, their fondest and earliest memories are of long hours and countless quarters spent in a local arcade blasting through their favorite adventures.

The project has been in development for years, and now, Halo: Fireteam Raven is finally ready to hit the arcades.

The Halo: Fireteam Raven machine will feature a 130-inch monitor capable of 4K visuals with "four turret-mounted, multipurpose machine guns". Unfortunately, it's not the Halo game fans have been expecting.

The game was announced during the Inside Xbox video presentation on Thursday night, and is a team up between Raw Thrills (one of the last arcade game producers in the US), Play Mechanix who were both "in close collaboration with 343 Industries". Players will work together to defeat enemies through an on-rails experience, across locations from the first game. "Arcade games are a wholly different challenge compared to console and PC gaming, and we've learned a tremendous amount as we worked with Raw Thrills to make this happen". Whether you're slaying Covenant soldiers, destroying space crafts, or exterminating the parasitic lifeform the Flood, Halo: Fireteam Raven will offer everything great about the Halo series despite being an arcade experience.

Halo: Fireteam Raven will debut at Dave & Busters in the United States and Canada sometime this summer. For more information on Halo: Fireteam Raven, check out a couple of screenshots of the game in action, as well as the initial announcement trailer.
