Police say it happened around 4:15 p.m. on Robinson Avenue.
Fire Department personnel alerted the police that there was an 11-year-old girl inside the vehicle, said authorities. The girl and her mother had just arrived home when high winds toppled a tree onto the vehicle.
The girl was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The girl's mother suffered only minor injuries.
The names of both victims are being withheld. No further information is being released at this time.
