The scope of these games often extend far beyond what was initially imagined, especially when they smash their goals and in the case of Shenmue III, smash Kickstarter records.
Deep Silverannounced today that the release of Shenmue 3 has been pushed back to 2019. It was originally supposed to come out in December 2017.
Publisher Deep Silver made the announcement, giving the usual reasons for why games get delayed. To be honest, if it means a better game at launch, we're all for it.
KitGuru Says: I'm intrigued to see how Shenmue III turns out, but I've not managed to get overly excited about it due to the lack of in-game footage and information.
To all of our backers, we are very sorry for the delay.
This is the second time that Shenmue III has been delayed. "Deep Silver today announce that their upcoming release Shenmue III has been moved and will now release in 2019", the announcement reads. This will allow developer YS Net some extra time to "polish the quality of the game", though for Shenmue fans it is yet another hurdle they face in finally getting their hands on the long-awaited game.
"We can not thank you enough for your enduring support", Suzuki added.
