Body found in search for missing girl (14) from Lucan

The body of Anastasia Kriegel was discovered at a derelict house

Earlier today, Gardai issued a renewed appeal to the public for information about the whereabouts of Anastasia Kriegel.

Gardai have been searching for the missing teen since Monday.

Adopted as a two-year-old from Russian Federation by Irish and French parents, Ana's remains were naked when they were discovered. A possible sexual motive to her murder is being explored. Their inquiries are now examining her last known movements and specifically who she was with.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out on the body of a 14-year-old school girl whose remains were discovered in Lucan, Dublin.

Gardaí are awaiting the results of a post mortem to determine the course of the investigation. However, Garda sources said Ana had been beaten to death.

Gardai say they are treating the death as suspicious and are urging anyone who was in the area on Monday evening to come forward. Her parents were distraught and also had another younger child they wanted to protect.

Gardaí at Lucan in County Dublin, who are now investigating the disappearance of a 14-year-old girl, have discovered the body of a female.
