This marks the second DL trip of the season due to a left hamstring strain for Beltre, who was only activated from his original DL placement a month ago. Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News tweets that Beltre conceded that he may need to be more open to spending time as the designated hitter. He missed 11 days in April with a similar issue.
Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre has been placed back on the 10-day disabled list with an injury to his left hamstring. The club purchased the contract of infielder Hanser Alberto from Triple-A Round Rock. He got hurt on a defensive play in the seventh inning of a loss at Houston on Sunday when he turned to try to get out a runner coming to third base.
Beltre, 39, aggravated his hamstring during Sunday's game against the Astros.
Beltre went 1 for 2 at the plate before the injury and is batting.314 this season in 29 games.
