San Francisco: With the rising popularity of Amazon's virtual assistant Alexa, HP Inc's new 34-inch curved all-in-one (AiO) PC is expected to come with the built-in digital assistant app.
The eight voices will be in US English and will give devs who use them a chance to liven up their Alexa skills.
Amazon Polly was first introduced at Amazon's re:Invent developer event in November 2016, and has been steadily ramping up its capabilities in the time since.
But their addition could make some of Alexa's skills more engaging - especially those involving different characters, like an adventure story or game, for example.
It's all part of Amazon Polly, which was created for Alexa developers back in 2017. For developers with skills that use only one voice, changing it or adding another in the right place may offer a more engaging experience for customers, according to the post.
If you already use multiple voices in your skill via using.mp3 files or another technique, consider Amazon Polly for its natural-sounding voices and ease of maintenance.
Amazon Polly is a service that turns text into lifelike speech, allowing you to create applications that talk, and build entirely new categories of speech-enabled products. It's this service that's been expanded with the extra voices.
