Wade on fire as Heat burn 76ers

Sixers grab 1-0 series lead over Heat in first playoff win in six years

All-Star center Joel Embiid took to social media to express his frustration over sitting out of the Philadelphia 76ers' Game 2 loss to the Miami Heat due to injury.

Dwyane Wade rolled back the years with a vintage performance as the Miami Heat ended Philadelphia's 17-game winning streak to level their Eastern Conference playoff series on Monday. Miami outscored Philadelphia 34-13 in the second quarter and held the Sixers to 4 of 21 shooting in the period and 2 of 18 shooting from three-point range for the half. A three-time National Basketball Association champion, Wade has settled into a bench role in his return to the Heat, but the team likes to play through the veteran guard when he's on the floor.

He is reportedly out of the NBA's concussion protocol, and has already been ruled out for Game Two, which is set for Monday night at 8 p.m.at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

The Sixers started out strong, but lost the lead by the half.

All the while, Wade couldn't miss.

The defeat marks the Sixers' first loss since their March 13 defeat to the Indiana Pacers and despite previously going 9-0 without injured star center Joel Embiid, his absence was especially felt this game with the 24-year-old later expressing his frustration on Instagram, stating he was "f--g sick and exhausted of being babied".

There are still a few medical hurdles for Embiid to clear as he returns from surgery, sources told ESPN. "When he's not able to do that, he gets frustrated". How limited, and what happens if Spoelstra makes it really limited bears watching - not just for this series, but also as a prelude to a potential move away from Whiteside this summer (if Miami can find a taker for him).

Ben Simmons finished with 24 points to lead the Sixers.

Embiid has been sidelined since March 28 after suffering a broken orbital bone and concussion in a collision with teammate Markelle Fultz.

Embiid wore his black mask and put on a 3-point shootout in pregame that had fans going wild with each shot.
