Dashnaktsutyun Party ruling coalition's parliamentary session on Monday, and with respect to nominating ex-President Serzh Sargsyan as the next Prime Minister, lasted about five minutes, NEWS.am reported. Parliament is expected to vote on the matter on April 17.
Representatives of the Armenian opposition have blockaded several streets and intersections in Yerevan, continuing a protest action against the nomination of Sargsyan. As Panorama.am reporter informs, the protesters stormed the building, went to the third floor, broke the door leading to one of the recording studios and demanded a live broadcast.

Police have set up a barricade on the Marshal Baghramyan Street in order to prevent protesters from making their way to the parliament building. According to the statement, the candidacy of Serzh Sargsyan will be officially put forward by the HHK parliamentary faction on April 16. He became the first head of state, elected by the parliament after the country's transition to a parliamentary form of government.
Opposition politicians say the shift to a parliamentary republic with a powerful prime minister has been created to increase Serzh Sarkisian's grip on power in the impoverished Moscow-allied country.
