Mount's fourth RBI of the game helped the Cats trim TTU's lead just two, 8-6, in the eighth.

The Red Raiders outscored the Wildcats 56-16 in the series.

Kansas State had a 3-1 lead heading to the fourth, but a three-run home run pushed Texas Tech ahead and they would never relinquish the lead.

Saturday's 26 runs is the most scored by a Texas Tech squad in a Big 12 game. Zach Rheams went 2 for 2 with a double, two walks, two runs and two RBI for TTU.

Paige von Sprecken pitched a shutout, allowing just two hits and striking out seven for her 10th win of the year. The Wildcats would head into the ninth inning needing three runs to extend the game. J.C. Keys (3.0 IP, BB, 4 K) recorded his first save.

Texas Tech had three innings with five-plus runs, six in the second, nine in the third and five in the seventh.

Jung's two-out single in the eighth off Alex Belch added the Red Raiders' final run.

Brennan took to the mound for K-State and struck out the first batter he faced.

Mount had the only multi-hit performance for the Cats, as Brennan, Thompson, McWhertor and Trent McMaster each had one hit. Jack Claeys had two hits for the Wildcats (1-11, 9-20).

No luck was had though, as the Wildcats went down in order, and the game ended in a 9-6 loss for K-State.

Taylor Ellsworth scored on an error in the next inning to cap the scoring for Texas. He was the only Wildcat to register multiple hits. Drew Ashley had two hits, two walks, two runs and two RBI for IU. Jeremy Ydens had three hits and scored twice for the victors.

Freshman Quinton Potter pitches during the K-State game versus Nebraska on Tuesday.

Four Tech pitchers combined to strike out 14 Wildcats.

In Stanford, Calif., Nico Hoerner had three hits and three RBI as Stanford completed the Pac-12 sweep of ASU.

In Norman, Okla., Nathan Wiles fanned seven in 7.2 scoreless innings as OU salvaged the finale of its Big 12 series with UT.

The Cats' nine-game losing streak is their longest of the season.
