Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium; first dual camera smartphone from the company announced

Sony's dual camera Xperia XZ2 Premium takes ultra-low-light photos

The Xperia XZ2 is a flagship smartphone that's powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC. It has a 19MP f/1.8 Motion Eye camera that uses an RGB sensor and secondary 12MP f/1.6 shooter for black & white. The ultra-high sensitivity settings is usually found only on professional interchangeable lens camera systems. Users will be able to get bokeh shots using the Monochrome sensor. The camera's low-light capability - as well as its artistic effects - are available for viewing with the live view-finder for an accurate representation of your subject.

Sony's answer with the Xperia XZ2 Premium, which introduces the company's Motion Eye Dual camera with both a black-and-white and color sensor.

While the Xperia XZ2 Premium looks near identical to the original Xperia XZ2 with its 3D glass design, it improves on its barely-aged predecessor with upgrades in the camera, display and battery departments.

Sony's Premium models have a 4K display - on the few smartphones that do - and the 16:9 aspect gives you a native 3840 x 2160 pixels, 780ppi. Thanks to this display you can enjoy your own 4K HDR content (since this is the only smartphone capable of both creating and viewing 4K HDR). The Japanese company just introduced its first phone with dual cameras - Xperia XZ2 Premium.

Not only can you see your movies with powerful realism, but you can even feel them thanks to Sony's brand new Dynamic Vibration System that analyzes audio data and lets you feel the action in your hands, bringing your movies, games, and videos to life. The Xperia XZ2 display is impressive, so we suspect the XZ2 Premium display will be great too.

The device also boasts S-Front front surround stereo speakers, which is termed as loudest Xperia speakers ever. Sony's audio expertise also enables sound enhancing technologies for Xperia, such Hi-res Audio, DSHEE HX, and LDAC. What that means is that the front and back of the smartphone is covered with Gorilla Glass 5, with the side frames made out of metal.

We expect to hear more about the Xperia XZ2 Premium as it gets closer to its summer ship date. It'll be sold in two colors: Chrome Black and Chrome Silver. XZ2 Premium has 6GB RAM for additional speed and efficiency. It also has with Smart Stamina and STAMINA modes for those moments when you want to squeeze every last minute out of your remaining charge. It is backed by a 3,540mAh non-removable battery and also supports QuickCharge 3.0 and Qi wireless charging.

A spokesperson told TechRadar: "Given the strength of the existing Xperia XZ range, specifically the XZ2, XZ2 Compact, and XZ Premium, there are now no plans for widespread ranging of the handset [XZ2 Premium] in the United Kingdom and Ireland".
