In the fourth episode of the Roseanne revival, the ABC sitcom paid tribute to its late cast member Glenn Quinn. From executive producer Carsey Werner Productions, "Roseanne" ran for nine seasons on ABC (1988-1997) and triumphantly returned to stellar ratings this past March.
In Tuesday's storyline, Becky (Lecy Goranson) learned her chances of getting pregnant were slim after a visit to the doctor. Darlene then tried to persuade her to move on, explaining that it wasn't a betrayal to Mark. Becky meanwhile has been working at a tavern, while hoping to make $50,000 acting as a surrogate mom for a woman named Andrea, played by Sarah Chalke (who of course played Becky #2 on the original show). (The Irish actor also had a devoted fan base as Doyle from "Angel.") Glenn died from an accidental heroin overdose in December 2002.
The episode featured Becky's battle with infertility and her character revealed that she had been trying to have a baby with her husband Mark and that she would never find "anyone as good" as him after he died.
Michael Fishman, who plays D.J. Conner on the series, took to Twitter to express his own condolences. It ended with Roseanne and Dan showing up for one of those moments of family reconciliation that are always central to Roseanne.
