OnePlus 6 will be Amazon exclusive, reveals 'India teaser'

OnePlus 6

In an advertisement being shown at Cinemas in India, the last slide reveals that the OnePlus 6 will be an Amazon-exclusive smartphone, just like its predecessors.

When it comes to pricing, the OnePlus 6 is said to cost twice as much as the OnePlus 5T. We were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by a OnePlus 6 promo video ahead of the screening of a Hollywood flick starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The notification icons, battery percentage icon, network signal icons will be placed either side of the notch. The display will have a notch at the top, which did not please a lot of OnePlus fans. The half a dozen images seen in the gallery below suggest one of the two lenses of the smartphone's dual-camera setup will be a telephoto affair, with the device apparently being capable of delivering a natural bokeh effect that doesn't exclusively rely on software blurring.

One of the changes in terms of design will arrive in the form of a repositioned, and possibly distinctly colored alert slider.

Powering the new OnePlus 6 will be the all-new octa-core Snapdragon 845 chipset from Qualcomm, which will be paired with an Adreno 630 graphics processing unit (GPU). It notes that the OnePlus 6 will come with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. Firstly, the OnePlus 6 will be backed by dual rear cameras that will come with a combination of 20-megapixel primary lens and 16-megapixel of secondary sensor. Also, under the camera module there will be the fingerprint sensor. However, like it did with the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, the OnePlus 6 will also, eventually, make its way to offline stores as OnePlus is now trying to capture a market that strays away from shopping online. It is likely to run Android Oreo out-of-the-box, and support Face Unlock. We had earlier reported that the smartphone may come in three new colours- Black, White and Blue; and now with another leak confirming the Blue option, we aren't hesitant in adding it to our list of leaked specifications.

It is worth mentioning that Amazon Prime members might be able to get access to the upcoming OnePlus 6 before than regular users. Another interesting leak points to the smartphone supporting Dash Charge V2. Over the years, OnePlus has been an online-first brand and only recently branched out to offline retailers with its partnership with Croma in India. Considering that latest edition of Avengers featuring Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet has a worldwide premiere on April 27, 2018, we can expect the limited OnePlus 6 to be launched around the same time frame.
