The actor was found dead on Monday when Asheville police were called to Anderson's home before 8am, according to the local CBS station.
- Actor Harry Anderson, best known for his role as Judge Harry Stone on "Night Court", has died at age 65, FOX Carolina reports. The statement said foul play is not suspected.
Harry starred on nearly 200 episodes of Night Court as Judge Harry Stone after first breaking out on Saturday Night Live in the early 1980s.
Anderson was also a successful stand-up and magician, who often appeared on Saturday Night Live and other late-night locales. The series, which ran from 1984 through 1992, made up part of NBC's "Must-See TV" Thursday night lineup that also included The Cosby Show, Family Ties and Cheers.
Following his stint on Night Court, he played the lead role of Dave Barry in "Dave's World" from 1993 to 97.
In his later years, Anderson kept a low profile, only occasionally appearing in shows like "30 Rock", "Son of the Beach" and "Comedy Bang!"
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Morgan, whom he married in 2000, and his two children from his first wife, Leslie Pollack.
