"What the USA secretary of state has said about the Islamic Republic of Iran's role and presence in some regional countries is just a rehash of baseless claims".

The unusual statement, released by the Prime Minister's office, did not elaborate on the information but said the speech will take place in the ministry of defense in Tel Aviv.

The Israeli premier has repeatedly called for the accord between world powers and his country's main enemy to either be altered or scrapped. The presentation is "aimed mainly to worldwide ears", the source said, adding that it comes ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump's looming deadline on the decision whether to extend the waiver on nuclear-related sanctions against Iran.

If Trump does not recertify the agreement by 12 May US will be able to reinstate sanctions against Iran and it could potentially be the end of JCPOA which Iran agreed with the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council - China, France, Russia, United Kingdom and United States - plus Germany.

He alleges the agreement does not prevent Iran from eventually obtaining nuclear weapons and says the lifting of sanctions has increased Tehran's ability to finance proxy militants in the Middle East.

Israeli officials have not commented on Monday's overnight airstrike that killed Iranians inside neighboring Syria. He went on to say that if Iran fully re-joins the global economy and if its ranking improves, it will benefit much more from the implementation of the nuclear deal.

Speaking alongside the Israeli leader, Pompeo said in Tel Aviv: "We remain deeply concerned about Iran's unsafe escalation of threats towards Israel and the region".

Tensions in the region were escalating after a fresh missile strike targeted Syrian military sites in Hama and Aleppo countryside on Sunday night.
