Zayn Malik dropped by Zane Lowe'sBeats 1 show Monday (Apr. 16) to discuss his new music and forthcoming sophomore album. Malik says he's definitely proud of the finished work, which is apparently ready to go when we are, though no official release date has been confirmed.
However, it has been reported he is planning one behind his new album.
The pair first started working together in 2015 when he left One Direction, but sources have alleged that Zayn has becoming 'challenging to work with, declining many promotional opportunities and not touring behind his last album'.
Zayn is the second big name to leave the London-based management team in the last week, with pop singer Ellie Goulding parting ways with the company after 10 years.
"Let Me" also marked the first release since the former One Direction member's split from model and longtime girlfriend Gigi Hadid.
However, First Access has a strong roster that includes Bebe Rexha, Rita Ora, and others, as well as a partnership with up-and-coming singer Madison Beer.
The company also suffered a devastating loss in November after the death of rapper Lil Peep, who passed away following an accidental drug overdose. A representative for Zayn could not be reached for comment by Variety.
Sarah, the co-founder of management company First Access Entertainment, told the publication: "Sometimes in life you have to make extremely hard decisions to effect positive change for everyone". "It's going to be different to I think anything anyone has done before".
