CBSE paper leak case Delhi Police arrests three more people

The Delhi Police have finally solved the Class 10 mathematics question paper leak case.

Amit Sharma, a clerk and Ashok Kumar, a peon of the school, were also arrested in connection with the case.

The police had earlier said that the leak of the papers happened either at the board level or at the time when they were kept in the banks.

The Delhi Police on Monday, took the three accused arrested in class 12 Economics paper leak case, to Una in Himachal Pradesh, to reconstruct the sequence of events and question some more people there, sources said.

The woman, from Ferozepur in Punjab, was allegedly sent a copy of the leaked paper by Rakesh Kumar, the police said.

On Thursday, investigators said Rakesh Kumar had confessed that he was also involved in the mathematics paper leak, as well, PTI reported.

The economics paper was leaked on March 23, three days before the examination date in Una town, and was shared on social networking application WhatsApp by at least 40 groups.

The Central Board of Secondary Education academic unit at Rouse Avenue had on March 26 received some sheets of handwritten answers of Economics paper in a blank envelope before the exam commenced.

Rakesh Kumar was the centre superintendent of Jawahar Navodaya Public School in Una, where the CBSE exams were being held.

The first case of CBSE paper leak was lodged on March 27 and the other pertaining to the mathematics paper was lodged on March 28, following a complaint by the regional director of the CBSE. The Delhi Police Crime Branch had registered two separate cases in connection with leakage of both the question papers.

While the Class XII paper will be conducted again, the CBSE has announced it would not conduct a retest for the Class X exam.
