Browns, WR Gordon agree to 1-year deal

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Gordon, 27, was reinstated past year after serving an indefinite suspension since 2014 for repeated violations of the NFL's substance abuse policy. Gordon will make $790,000 next season, far less than he would be getting if he had been able to stay out of trouble.

The Browns on April 16 announced they have signed four exclusive rights free agents - wide receiver Josh Gordon, fullback Dan Vitale, offensive lineman Austin Reiter and wide receiver Matt Hazel. Gordon, 27, is expected to report for the team's offseason workout program Monday.

Gordon returned to the Browns and played five games last season following an National Football League suspension and a lengthy rehab stint. Gordon has at least as much talent as Landry. The Browns have signed wide receiver Josh Gordon as an exclusive rights free agent. Gordon scored nine touchdowns in 2013.

The Browns acquired Jarvis Landry from the Miami Dolphins and last week completed a five-year, $75.5 million deal with the former LSU teammate of Odell Beckham.

Gordon will be a restricted free agent next season, which means he won't strike it rich until 2020 when he will be an unrestricted free agent.
