Bengals select Ohio State center Billy Price with 21st overall pick

George Iloka isn't worried about Bengals adding a safety in 2018 NFL draft

And like Ward, he will also be staying in Ohio.

With Price aboard, the Bengals still boast 10 more picks, starting in the second round Friday night.

Price, who suffered a partial left pectoral tear at the National Football League combine in February, was the 2017 Rimington Trophy victor in his only season starting at center. Price (6'4/305) earned the 2017 Rimington Award as the nation's top center, capping his career with an Ohio State all-time record 55 starts.

Last year, the Bengals took a chance and selected speedy wide receiver John Ross, whom we also had pegged with potential medical issues, and that pick did not work out so well - at least in the first season.

According to him, and now his doctor, Price already has full range of motion back, so it appears as though his recovery is going well. He was also a former Division I Player of the Year back at Austintown-Fitch. But it says something about how teams think about him that even though he will not be ready to play until training camp that he can be the No. 21 pick of the draft.

It's a great fit for him, as he is only just down Interstate 71 from Columbus to Cincinnati and the Bengals have been without a very good offensive line for much of Andy Dalton's tenure.

Cincinnati chose to keep Bill Lazor as offensive coordinator after he finished last season on an interim basis.

The Bengals were in need of a center after four-year starter Russell Bodine signed with the Buffalo Bills last month.
